Atlas Filtri® DP BIG Scale Reduction Unit ZC1700749 is a point-of-use water filtration system for the reduction of sediment and lime scale build-up in whole house applications. The polypropylene housing accepts a 5-micron, 10" sediment filter that includes Atlas Filtri's special grade of polyphosphate media, ScaleArmor™, to reduce scale build-up on heater coils and tank heating systems. The wall mounted filtration unit is designed to be installed prior to a water heating unit to accommodate flow rates of up to 20 gallons per minute. The maximum inlet water pressure of 120 psi at 113 deg F (45 deg C) maximum temperature makes it the highest performing system available. Standard inlet and outlet connections are 1" NPT. Standard head unit is reinforced polypropylene and the sump housing is PET. Standard o-ring is EPDM. Melt-blown CPP smooth cartridges with a length from 10" are made to comply with the most stringent regulations for applications in drinking water. These five (5) micron polypropylene cartridges are suitable for many filtration applications due to their wide chemical-physical compatibility to a variety of water-based solutions. The polyphosphate incorporated into the center core of the filter is design as a slow release, low acid media, specifically for extreme water conditions found in high temperature filtration applications. The media is designed to last 1 year on up to 15 grain hard water as it releases slowly into the water supply.
